It's one of the most anticipated movies of the summer, if not the entire year! I've been waiting for this day for what seems like forever and all I could think about was going to see the new Batman movie tonight. What should have been a great day has turned to tragedy after this morning's deadly shooting in Aurora, Colorado at the Century Aurora 16 Theaters during the midnight showing of 'The Dark Knight Rises'. Right now it's officially confirmed that 12 people are dead, and over 71 are injured.

Earlier this morning, at the midnight showing of 'The Dark Knight Rises' a mad man now identified as James Holmes went to the Century Aurora 16 Theaters and began shooting people at random. He made entrance to the theater from the rear about thirty minutes into the film, dropped tear gas or a some kind of smoke grenade then started shooting.

There's been a lot of speculation, rumors online and elsewhere that Warner Brothers might cancel or postpone the premiere for a few days, possibly weeks after this tragedy. So far at this time the movie is still set to open and screenings are continuing as scheduled. There have been a few cancellations mainly the Paris Premiere, but other than that most theaters are going ahead and plan to see opening weekend through.

It's hard to believe something like this happened and I'm still trying to make sense of it all, if that's even possible. Of course my thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and their families as well as anyone else who's life has been forever changed by this horrific tragedy.

listen to the police scanner from this morning!
