Activity feed updates and mobile purchases are just some of the new features coming to Xbox One with next month's system update.

Lawrence Hryb, the Director of Programming for Xbox Live, unveiled what to expect with August's Xbox One update on his Major Nelson website. After listening to player feedback, Xbox will be implementing these features, and some of them are a godsend. The first change is a pop up notification for when your controller's battery is low. This is much better than having to go back to the Xbox One's main menu in the middle of gameplay just to check if you need to find some Duracells.

The biggest changes of this update come from the Xbox One's activity feed. You can now share game clips in your activity feed publicly or privately in a message. You can comment, "like" and put descriptions on feed activities as well. You will also receive notifications for each of these when someone else does this to one of your activities.  Players can now use Xbox.com or Xbox SmartGlass to purchase content for your games, and your Xbox will automatically download them at home and have your new items ready to go by the time you get home.

Lastly, 3D Blu-rays now play in the Xbox One. You can also stay up-to-date with your friends' activities and even turn off notifications during video playback. Expect these changes to happen in an automatic update sometime next month.
