Recently, an Oklahoma influencer took to social media to rate the top 10 meteorologists in Oklahoma, and the list may stir up some controversy among residents across the state.

Oklahoma is one of the best places for meteorologists to work because of the state's unique weather, especially during the spring time, so the state has several well qualified meteorologists. And every Oklahoman has their favorite local meteorologist, which can make a best meteorologists list difficult to put together. But Oklahoma influencer @nicekidd decided to take his top 10 list to TikTok, and residents had a lot to say in the comments about the list.

The top 10 best meteorologists in Oklahoma list complied by @nicekidd ranked the meteorologists that are currently working in Oklahoma. Oklahoma has had several nationally recognized meteorologists throughout the years that have made significant contributions to weather reporting. But this list contains the meteorologists that are currently reporting across Oklahoma.

Locals in Oklahoma are divided on the best meteorologist in the state.

It's not surprising that Oklahomans had a lot to see about @nicekidd's ranking of the state's best meteorologists. Oklahomans develop sacred bonds with their favorite meteorologists. And rightfully so because local meteorologists are the ones who are watching out for Oklahomans when severe weather strikes. So if severe weather is in the forecast, Oklahomans will religiously tune in to their favorite meteorologist.

In the comments, most people agreed with @nicekidd that David Payne at News 9 is the best meteorologist in the state. Payne has been with News 9 for several decades and trained under one of Oklahoma's most celebrated meteorologists, Gary England.

But other Oklahomans disagreed, and were surprised that some of the other meteorologists were so low on the list, like Damon Lane, Travis Meyer and Jed Castles. And some commenters thought England should still be included on the list since he still does weather reporting online. And some thought the list should have included Aaron Tuttle who began working as a meteorologist in Oklahoma in the 90s and now reports exclusively online.
