Oklahoma is expected to be dry during the month of October, and it looks like that could continue into Halloween. Trick-or-treaters will be happy to have dry costumes and candy, but Oklahoma itself is in desperate need of some rain.

According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, various areas of Oklahoma are experiencing a drought from abnormally dry to an extreme drought. There are only a few spots across the state that aren't experiencing any kind of drought at all.

And to make the drought more significant, the weather pattern isn't expected to send any rain to Oklahoma, at least through the middle of the month. After that, the weather pattern could send some rain Oklahoma's way, but local meteorologists aren't placing their bets just yet.

What will the weather be like in Oklahoma on Halloween?

Last year, Oklahoma received a very strong cold front on Halloween that brought in winter-like temperatures. Various areas across Oklahoma saw their area's first frost of the season either before or right after Halloween. Some areas even received some wintry precipitation.

But this year, the Farmers' Almanac is expecting Oklahoma to have dry weather on Halloween. It could also be a windy Halloween in Oklahoma this year. Maybe that wind will be blowing in another cold front? It's too soon to tell, but with temperatures expected to warm back up to the 90s for the first week of October in Oklahoma, Okies will definitely add a Halloween cold front to their prayers for rain.

Hopefully the Farmers' Almanac's extended fall forecast for Oklahoma of a brisk and rainy fall actually comes to fruition by Halloween.
