The cold front that just moved through Oklahoma was nice while it lasted. Oklahoma will have one more week of below average temperatures and increased chances of precipitation before warmer temperatures and lack of rain return.

To start off September, Oklahoma received a highly anticipated and much welcomed cold front that brought in lower temperatures and several opportunities for rain. Most Oklahomans spent Labor Day Weekend outside enjoying the weather and rocking out at the state's annual rock festival, which experienced rain delays.

But as we move more into September, those wet and crisp fall days will still seem far away as above average temperatures and below average precipitation chances return to Oklahoma. Almost all Okies are praying that we don't see a second summer.

NOAA extended forecast shows above average temperatures for Oklahoma.

According to the NOAA's eight to 14 day extended forecast, the temperatures for Sept. 10-16 are looking to be above average. Most of the state will likely see warmer temperatures towards the middle of September, while a corner of southeast Oklahoma may experience near normal temperatures.

For Oklahoma, near-normal temperatures range between 85-90 degrees. But with above average temperatures expected, areas of Oklahoma may see temperatures well above 90. As long as the heat doesn't get above 100, Oklahomans may be satisfied until the next cold front.

Oklahoma's chances of precipitation to dimmish into September.

One thing Oklahomans don't like to hear in the forecast is that there are no chances for rain. Unfortunately, the NOAA's extended precipitation probability for Sept. 10-16 are looking to be below average for most of the state.
