The annual Arts for All Festival will kick off Friday, May 9, in Lawton, Oklahoma, but road closures are already set up for the festival weekend. The festival will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Shepler Park in downtown Lawton, and a lane of Gore Blvd will be blocked off for the duration of the festival.

The Lawton Police Department posted a traffic update video on the department's official Facebook page Thursday afternoon indicating that one west-bound lane of Gore Blvd along Shepler Park has officially been blocked off for the Arts for All Festival. The lane closure stretches from SW 5th Street west to SW 4th Street.

According to the Lawton Police Department, the lane closure allows Arts for All Festival vendors to safely unload and load their supplies for the festival. The department encourages those who are traveling from the east side to the west side to take alternate routes, like Cache Road and Lee Boulevard during Mother's Day weekend.

Those who plan to attend the festival are encouraged to be mindful of the lane closure. Parking for the annual Arts for All Festival is available around downtown Lawton, including along streets and in various parking lots of surrounding businesses. Parking is free and the festival is free to attend.

Lawton's Worst Roads As Voted By You

Roads have always been a hot topic in Lawton. The local government always promises to fix them when elections are at stake, but the improvements never come. It's more of the same, crumbling roads and band-aid patches due to what the city describes as "too little funding," even though we continually vote for bonds to satisfy these issues.

Here are the worst commonly used roads in Lawton as voted by you.
