Cold Winter Weather May Be Headed for Oklahoma
After a long, hot summer and a mild start to fall, it has finally started to cool down in Oklahoma. And while we're all enjoying the comfortable fall weather, winter is slowly making its way to Oklahoma, but the cold air may arrive sooner than Oklahomans would like.
November started off cool and wet after a hot and dry fall. And the panhandle of Oklahoma has already had its first bout of winter with over seven inches of snow last week. A Pacific cold front is expected to blow through Oklahoma this week, which will bring in more rain chances and drop temperatures. Western Oklahoma is even expected to get its first frost of the season.
Above average temperatures set to end soon in Oklahoma.
Although Oklahomans have been enjoying the cooler fall weather, the temperatures have actually been above average for this time of year. Those above average temperatures are expected to continue through the middle of November.
But according to the National Weather Service in Norman, cold winter air may start creeping into Oklahoma before the end of the month. The National Weather Service in Norman is expecting a strong cold front to arrive in Oklahoma toward the middle of next week that could bring Oklahoma's temperatures down to below average or near normal.
