Oklahoma Is The Best Place To Name Your Baby
Some states limit what you can and cannot name your baby. But, in Oklahoma, we have true freedom. According to thebump.com, Oklahoma has no name laws, so you can literally name your baby anything; that is, anything using the English alphabet.
Granted, there are a few things you shouldn't name your baby (i.e. Satan, Jesus Christ, Adolf Hitler), but you technically have full creative reign.
Thanks to that creative freedom, there have been some interesting names printed on Oklahoma IDs and driver's licenses. For instance, one of the most unique names that made the 'popular unique names in your state' list in 2023 was "Ripken."
@kasontheinternet Replying to @Ivie revealing how you say my name and another family name to challenge you again! Lol. Kudos to everyone who got it right & thank you to those who guessed. Oklahoma has unique city names that have actually inspired actual baby names, like Tulsa or Enid. Personally, I'm waiting for the day that I get to meet someone named Slapout.

Somehow with all of this freedom, though, we tend to stick to the same old, same old. Place your bets now, ask yourself how many people do you know from Oklahoma named:
- Liam
- Olivia
- Oliver
- Amelia
- Noah
- Emma
- Elijah
- Sophia
- James
- Charlotte

For some reason, we really like to stick to these 10 names when we're bringing our little ones into the world. Although, I will admit that I'm surprised there weren't more "country" names included on this list because I don't know a single person in Oklahoma who doesn't have a friend or know a person named "Hunter."

Hopefully we can encourage you to venture out of the popular pool for your next baby's name, or use them anyway (it's your baby, after all). Oklahoma gives you plenty of room to get creative, so why not?
