Skelly's

Back in the day there was only one skeleton we'd ever see and it was a cardboard cutout that some of the cooler people in the neighborhood would put on their doors. Yes, that was it, and it was amazing. Now days everyone has somewhat articulated plastic skeletons to dress up thier lawn and Halloween parties. If you're in the market, or want to make yours better, read on.

Start Here

The most important thing you're going to want off the bat is to make sure the skelly you're buying is 5 foot (or more). There are any number of smaller skellys that like to pass off as "full-size" and you just won't be happy with them. Again, if you see a price lower than what I've listed below, it's probably not a full-size skelly. I personally don't care about light up eyes, or the ability to move the fingers, so we're just going to price out a basic, somewhat run-of-the mill skelly.

Here's The Prices

Here's what you're looking at for pricing:

Walmart has a very cheap lookin basic skelly for $29.97, but the Costway 5.4 inch skelly looks better for $59.99.

Home Depot has them on the rack for $29.99 or get a six-pack for $149.99

Lowe's has a slightly higher quality skelly for $34.98.

Joanne's Fabric's entry level skelly is $39.99. The only reason to get this spendy is that Joanne's stocks them VERY EARLY before the season.

Spirit Halloween's skeleton is a little bit pricey at $49.99, but they tend to always be in stock when the other places sell out.

Amazon has a super cheap and cheap looking skelly for $23.99. It's a bargain, but I don't think you'll be happy with it.

Now Let's Go Deluxe

If you want a very articulated, well-built skeleton, then be prepared to pay $129.99. These are about 10x heavier than regular skellys. They can take a bit more abuse and will last way longer than a regular skeleton. I would say they are *almost*, maybe 80% medical school quality. If you want a full-on anatomy skeleton, they have models for $359.99 and $887.99
