Texans Tell Tales Of How They Injured Thier Siblings

These stories are funny!

The Question

We asked the question, "How did you hurt your brother or sister?". I don't know why, but it seems to cut to the point more than "sibling" even though the definitions are synonymous. What we received were some hilarious stories running the gamut of injuries and reasons for those injuries. Fortunately all of the kids in the stories seem to have survived, with just a few scars and a lot of wounded pride.

The Themes

There are a few running themes here. First we have kids that were fighting and things escalated to the point where someone got hurt. Then we have the cases of "dare ya" type of scenarios. Lastly we have the "hijinks gone wrong" type of situations. I guess you could sum it up as "kids being kids". It all begs the question, do kids even understand the ramifications of some of this stuff, or do they have to see someone bleeding in order to "get it"?

It Could Be Worse

There are any number of violent scenarios here that resulted in minor injuries. I remember one time I made my little brother so mad that he chased me with an ax. It wasn't a camp hatchet, it was a full-on-fireman-knocks-down-doors-with-them ax. I'm not sure of what would have happened if he would have caught up with me, but axes are heavy enough that even an attempted fake swing could go wrong very quickly.
