We're about a month away from the federal consumer price index reports coming out, and we can only guess how much has changed since then. One this is for sure, while we all love to tout Oklahoma's affordable cost of living, it has grown emencly in the past year.

Sure, compared to places like NYC or California our housing might be half as much... but so is median pay. It's like comparing apples to less desirable apples, but the Sooner State is still a great place in the eyes of most people who live here.

It all breaks down to the actual cost of living versus the average income for a specific area. Sure, Nichols Hills is expensive... but the average income there is so high that the relative consumer index is much lower than living in a place like Ardmore.
