Silverchair Go On Hiatus

Silverchair are putting themselves on indefinite hiatus.

 The band say on their web site their rule was always, "If the band stops being fun and if it's no longer fulfilling creatively, then we need to stop."

 They say they've been struggling with the decision for a while, but their recent studio efforts indicated the band members were moving in different directions.

Silverchair formed 20 years ago when the band members were 12.
