Superhero films are really into the whole “choose a side” thing this year. Batman and Superman, the X-Men and Apocalypse (okay, that’s easy — Oscar Isaac and Michael Fassbender’s side, obviously), and the most brutal super-battle of them all: Iron Man and Captain America. Civil War is coming, and while the trailers have given us plenty to consider in the fight between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, Marvel’s latest batch of images gives us more to contemplate.

There were a lot of Captain America: Civil War fans who were waiting for another full trailer after the Super Bowl 50 commercial. That trailer has yet to arrive, but Empire Magazine has just debuted the cover for their Captain America: Civil War issue, which features a pretty rad new image of Cap and Iron Man going face-to-face...

With Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans promising a big surprise on Jimmy Kimmel Live, we knew it had to be something special — that something is the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War. Not a teaser, but an actual, full trailer, dramatically highlighting the growing divide between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, which will divide the Avengers and pit them against one another in what could be Marvel's most epic film yet.

Captain America: Civil War may be seven months away, but the trailer is set to debut with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Who can wait until December 18 though? With the clock ticking, and the Avengers: Age of Ultron publicity tour finally winding down, it’s time to get to shooting Cap 3. Marvel announced today that production has officially begun on next summer’s massive sequel, and they also revealed four more big additions to the cast.

There’s a lot to like about Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the coolest thing about it is the way it reclaims the comic book part of the phrase “comic-book movie.” Rather than using these characters to do something “edgy” or “adult” or “important,” or sanding down their quirkier edges to appeal to as broad and mainstream an audience as possible, Age of Ultron doubles down on its source material’s geeky origins.

We’re approaching that point in the ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ marketing campaign where it can start to feel like we’ve already seen every big stunt and setpiece in the film before the movie’s even opened. But the new ‘Avengers’ trailer reveals yet another amazingly cool beat that’s never been seen before: Chris Evans’ Captain America loses his shield in battle with James Spader’s Ultron, so Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow snatches it while trailing the fight on a motorcycle, then slides under a semi-truck Fast & Furious-style and tosses it up to Cap so he can continue the battle. Awesome awesome awesome. (Marvel’s going to try to use that as a pull-quote on the poster, aren’t they?)

Now here are some true heroes in action. Chris Evans won his Super Bowl bet with Chris Pratt last month, resulting in Pratt paying a visit to a children’s hospital dressed as Star-Lord. Be that as it may, Evans still decided to don his Captain America costume and visit a children’s hospital, too. That’s just the Captain America way.

Ever since the announcement of Captain America: Civil War, we’ve been curious about how the Russo brothers will begin to adapt Marvel’s Civil War comic book story line for the big screen, kicking off a major new arc in the MCU (and one that sees Spider-Man swinging in with a crossover). According to Robert Downey Jr., the seeds for Civil War have already been planted in Avengers: Age of Ultron, once again proving just how much planning and foresight goes into the creation of the MCU.

Marvel stars Chris Pratt and Chris Evans—Seahawks and Patriots fans, respectively—made a bet on Twitter on which of their teams would win the Super Bowl. At stake? The loser would have to visit a local charity dressed as their superhero. The Patriots beat the Seahawks in dramatic fashion, so Pratt, in full Star-Lord costume, lived up to his end of the bargain and visited Christopher's Haven, a home for kids and their families battling cancer in Boston.

For a while, the party line on the possibility of an ‘Iron Man 4’ was that it was not going to happen. And, at least technically, that’s still true—because instead Robert Downey Jr. is co-starring ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ where his Tony Stark and Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers will get into an epic superhero tussle.

A new ‘Avengers 2’ trailer is coming in less than a week (airing on January 12 during the College Football National Championship on ESPN) and when it arrives we’ll start to know a little bit more about the very secretive plot. As a little tease before the new trailer, we have a new photo from the film that gives us some insight as to how the Avengers deal with Ultron’s nefarious plot.
