The City of Lawton has announced the 'Trick-or-Treating' hours for 2022 along with 2 special 'Halloween Happenings' that are going on this week.

More and more of Lawton's Halloween happenings are being scheduled and announced for 2022. With Halloween being on a Monday this year all the holiday events are being scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday which gives us 3 whole days to celebrate All Hallow's Eve.

It's hard to believe this is the 40th annual 'Cops N' Kids' picnic. Unfortunately, they had to cancel the event for the past few years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but 2022 is a go!

The 2022 Lawton, Fort Sill 'Freedom Festival' is coming up this week. This year it will be a 2 day Independence Day bash at Elmer Thomas Park 501 N.W. Ferris Ave. on Friday (04-01-22) & Saturday (04-02-22).

It seems like it's been forever since we've had Open Streets in Lawton, Fort Sill. Well, good news. It's coming back and will be teaming up with SWOK Trails Fest next month. The BIG EVENT will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 17th and 18th at Elmer Thomas Park located at 501 N.W. Ferris Avenue in Lawton, OK.

Summer is officially here now and we're just a few short days away from celebrating Independence Day. I think this year will be one of the biggest and best Fourth of July's in recent history! After everything we've been through over the past year or so with the COVID-19 pandemic, people are more than ready to get back out there and have a good time. It's great that we're finally starting to get back to somewhat "normal" and are seeing the return of our favorite community happenings and events like the Apache Freedom Fest!

It opened yesterday (05-06-21) and will be going on until this Saturday, May 8th (05-08-21) in Elgin, OK. It's back, bigger, better and badder that ever before, Crawds N' Rods 2021! Last year they had to cancel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but 2021 is happening right now and it's looking like it might be one of they're best yet! Crawds N' Rods is one of the biggest car shows in the area and of course you can't forget the big crawfish boil that will be happening throughout the event.

It's National Library Week so why not celebrate with a trip to the Lawton Public Library located in down town Lawton at 110 S.W. 4th Street. They have all kinds of great events, activities and of course books for you to check out all week long, actually all month long.
