His move from rival NBC changed the landscape of late-night television.

It was a bittersweet farewell for David Letterman, as fans and friends filled the Ed Sullivan theater Wednesday for the final taping of 'The Late Show.'

T-minus one week and counting until the very last Late Show with David Letterman and the tributes are coming faster and faster, and sadder and sadder. I hope on the last installment of Stupid Pet Tricks one of the tricks is a shih tzu shedding a single tear for the end of this venerable late-night franchise, which comes to a close on May 20. It’s only fitting.

When you've been in Hollywood as long as Michael Keaton has, you've probably seen a lot of weird stuff created by fans -- a lot of signs and strange drawings and maybe a wacky letter here and there -- and although that sounds a little off-putting, Keaton is into it. Whoever is in charge of scheduling over at Disney (we imagine it's many people, but just go with it) is going to be in a lot of trouble when they realize that they've put their next 'Star Wars' movie up against 'The Nest,' an adult comedy starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. How do you even compete with that? You don't. Just pack it up now, J.J. Abrams. You're going to lose this box office battle.

"Summertime! Summertime, people!" Sure, Bruce Willis. We can blame this on it being the summertime. The actor hit 'The Late Show' last night to ... honestly, we don't even know, but eventually it devolved into Willis eating corn on the cob harmonica-style and getting absolutely covered in melted butter. Last night saw future 'Late Show' host Stephen Colbert dropping by David Letterman's standing regime to preview a bit of his impending takeover, dropping the 'Colbert Report' character for the genuine article.
