Here’s the thing about this Fantastic Four movie: it was supposed to be horrible. This movie has been riding an almost unprecedented level of bad buzz since earlier this year. Strangely, it seems to have started over literally nothing. Fans were upset they hadn’t seen anything official from the movie and began to suspect it stunk. Then, depending on who you talk to, the director was fired, the actors were upset and the script was a mess. But, the days of speculation are over and none of that bad buzz matters any more; there’s an actual film that can be judged on its own merits. Sadly, Fantastic Four, on its own merits, is still horrible.

In an age where audiences are inundated with superhero movies and superhero movie news, Josh Trank’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot has distinguished itself from the pack by being the movie that no one knows anything about. Aside from that vague, Interstellar-inspired teaser trailer, most of what we know about this film comes from hearsay and gossip. Depending on who you talk to, the film is either coming along fine or it’s an incomprehensible disaster. Could the brand new poster for the film give us anything new to chew on?

Football fans are no doubt excited for the 2015 Super Bowl. Heck, Marvel superheroes Chris Pratt and Chris Evans have a bet riding on it. But, even non-sports fans can find something to enjoy. No, we're not talking about Katy Perry's décolletage, we're talking about the Super Bowl movie trailers that will be airing during the commercial breaks. Guardians Of The Galaxy just enjoyed a very successful weekend at movie theaters, taking home around $94m, far in excess of expectations. The movie also stands at 92% positive reviews on aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, joining all previous Marvel Studios movies in receiving predominantly favorable notices. Marvel Studios is doing very well. In six years and ten movies, it has avoided both critical and commercial disasters, and frustrated naysayers who hailed the demise of the superhero movie at every step. Marvel's rivals at Fox, Sony Columbia, and Warner Bros, have enjoyed commercial success as well -- but not with the acclaim, consistency, or proliferation of Marvel. So how does Marvel do it, and can they keep doing it?

We've already heard about Disney's Marvel and Warner Bros.' DC lineups coming to Comic-Con 2014 (whether they've been officially confirmed or not), but what about that itty-bitty superhero property over in 20th Century Fox land, 'Fantastic Four'? The cast and crew have been on location in Louisiana filming for a couple months now, but will they be jetting to San Diego to appease the fans?

Now that screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg's (a name you will be hearing a lot more of in the future) duties are complete with the upcoming 'X-Men: Days of Future Past,' his attention now drifts to yet another group of superheroes, and this time it's the 'Fantastic Four.'

Though the major roles in the reboot of 'Fantastic Four' have been filled, the movie must do some world-building to set up the film's already dated sequel. So it's no surprise that Tim Blake Nelson is joining the cast of the film to play Harvey Elder, who will eventually (though not in the first film) become the Mole Man.
