So have you had your fill of horror movies and haunted attractions? If not and you're still looking to get scared you could always take a horrifying hike on this Oklahoma trail, if you're brave enough.
Over the past couple of days the family and I have been planning out mini-vacations and stay-cations for the Spring and Summer months. We've found all kinds of really cool places to go and visit, most are right here in Oklahoma and many are only a few short hours away from home.
Making plans now with the family for various stay-cations this Spring and Summer. We're always on the look out for new and different places to visit, but aren't too far from the house. You know a quick day trip type getaway and there's plenty of places to go and see that are only a few short hours from Lawton.
Yesterday Kelso and I decided to take a quick lunch break and head to the mountains. It's been forever since I've driven through the refuge, not to mention up Mount Scott. All the road repairs have been completed and Mt. Scott is officially reopened. We made a quick stop, grabbed some lunch, and headed to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge for a short break. It's a great way to get a little R&R in the middle of the workday.
If like me you're bored to death and looking for something, anything to do I may have a solution. The family and I were sitting around trying to think of an activity we can all do together and that doesn't cost too much, even better if it's free! Well after we starting listing "things to do" hiking came up and everyone agreed we'd hit the trails. It's the perfect weekend activity and will get us all outdoors and moving!
I'm all about doing some hiking, but when I come across something sketchy, I have no problem finding a new route. These hikers are lucky to be alive, falling into cold water while wearing full packs.
These hikers had a really close call with death when the suspension bridge they were crossing collapsed. The entire incident was captured on video, looks like it flipped upside down and dumped them into the creek or river below. The bridge is located at the Great Walk Lake in Waikaremoana, New Zealand.
This guy comes face to face with a large mountain lion while hiking at Glacier National Park. Just goes to show that you never know what you'll encounter while enjoying the great outdoors. Luckily for this hiker the cat wasn't too hungry and seems more confused by his presence than anything else. This is one big kitty!
