There's a new Senate bill (SB-1366) that would change and/or amend Oklahoma's firearm laws as it relates to the state's self-defense act and open carry. The new bill was written and introduced by Senator Lonnie Paxton (R-Tuttle, OK.) and seeks to make changes to the language of the self-defense act and the practice of concealed or open carry of firearms in the state.

Oklahoma law makers are working to end the state income tax for all citizens by introducing new legislation that would eventually see the current income tax structure go away completely. This is great news for all Oklahomans and will hopefully be approved and passed sometime soon.

The current visitation rights for patients in Oklahoma hospitals who are suffering from COVID-19 could be changing sometime soon. At this time patients have very restrictive visitation rights and in most cases are only permitted one person who is allowed to visit throughout the entire hospitalization. An Oklahoma lawmaker is seeking to revise the visitation rights and COVID-19 regulations at hospitals across the state.

State lawmakers will be submitting a referendum and are hoping to gain approval in order to place it as a question on a state ballot. I think most Oklahomans would agree doing away with the state's current sales tax on groceries is a good thing.

A new bill or resolution has been filed by a state legislator for 2022 that would put an end to Oklahoma's death penalty. State Rep. Mauree Turner (D-OKC) introduced HJR-1050 that if passed would place the death penalty on the ballot as a state question for the voters to decide.

Oklahoma legislators are wanting to entice firearm and ammunition manufacturers to move to the Sooner State. The invitation would be for new and existing gun and ammo businesses that are considering relocating.

You've probably heard all the rumors and stories online and elsewhere, well it's true. A petition has been filed by an Oklahoma cannabis advocacy group named ORCA (Oklahoman's for Responsible Cannabis Action) to legalize recreational marijuana for adults 21 and over.

I just read an interesting article about Oklahoma Senator Michael Bergstrom filling a new senate bill (SB 1098) that would allow Oklahoma residents to purchase and own firearm silencers without all the federal regulations. If the silencer was made in Oklahoma and remained in the state it would be exempt from federal registration and regulations.

Back in July we heard news that Oklahoma Legislators were working to end the sales tax on groceries. At that time they announced that they would be conducting a study to see what the possible impacts would be both positively and negatively for the state. Well they've done their research and it's looking like they'll be moving forward with it. Lawmakers will be meeting very soon to draft legislation to end the grocery sales tax.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt and state legislators wasted no time firing back at President Biden's new Federal vaccine mandate. The new Federal mandate was announced yesterday (09-09-21) and will affect around 80 million plus Americans.

Oklahoma just passed a new law that allows cosmetologists and barbers the option to cut and style hair in customer's homes or at their own home. Senate Bill (SB 850) was passed by the House and senate, then approved and signed into law by Governor Kevin Stitt back in April of this year.

One of the most controversial parts of the new law is immunity for motor vehicle operators that may unintentionally hit protestors blocking public roads and highways.
