Oklahoma has the longest stretch of Route 66 and some of the most iconic and historic sights and roadside attractions to be found on "The Mother Road." The Sooner State also has a Route 66 museum filled with memorabilia and artifacts.
It's been called the most scenic drive in all of Oklahoma. Have you ever made the 54-mile trip down the Talimena Scenic Drive before? It's an amazing 54-mile stretch of road through some of the most beautiful countrysides in the Sooner State and Arkansas. There are plenty of stops along the way and unique sights.
If you take the drive through Oklahoma on Route 66 you'll get to see famous landmarks like the Round Barn in Arcadia, the Blue Whale of Catoosa, the historic Coleman Theater in Miami, and of course the Route 66 Museum in Clinton, OK. If you've never been to the museum it houses one of the largest collections of Route 66 memorabilia around.
The family and I have been doing little min-vacations and stay-cations throughout the Summer months running around Oklahoma and seeing all the sites. Instead of just doing one big vacation we decided to split it up into several smaller vacations and stay right here in Oklahoma.
