The Cult

The Cult are dipping into their history this year, choosing to perform the classic 1987 release 'Electric' in its entirety as part of their upcoming tour. The trek, dubbed 'Electric 13,' will kick off July 25 in San Diego and mostly centers on North American tour stops before jetting over to the U.K. in October.

The Cult returned earlier this year with their latest disc ‘Choice of Weapon’ and now the rockers are offering up an insider’s look into the writing and recording process for the album with a new digital release titled ‘Weapon of Choice.’

The Cult were involved in a bus crash in Europe this week while traveling in the early morning hours from Split, Croatia, to Ljubijana, Slovenia. Thankfully, there were no fatalities or very serious injuries, but frontman Ian Astbury was pretty banged up in the accident. It’s been five years since the Cult have released a new full-length album, but all that will change come May 22 when the band drops ‘Choice of Weapon’ via Cooking Vinyl Records. In the meantime, the new song ‘Lucifer’ is available as a free download below.
