Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante has criticized President Trump following the recent school shooting in Florida that left 17 people dead. After Trump stated that the FBI should have been focusing their attention on investigating the shooter instead of his possible collusion with Russia, Benante tweeted how he found Trump’s statement to be “horrible.”

Since the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., subjects like gun control and mental illness have been the center of discussion in America. Pearl Jam and Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe both publicly supported gun control after the shooting, while musicians like All That Remains’ Phil Labonte spoke of the difficulty in finding the appropriate action that would actually remedy the issue. Though Benante didn’t comment on guns, he set his sights on one of Trump’s tweets following the shooting:

“Man... 17 kids died and you are making this about You? I find this so horrible,” Benante writes. “How can people who support him not be upset with this as well??”

Benante also spoke to individuals who responded to the drummer’s tweet, admitting that “The FBI did mess this up too.” A less diplomatic response came from Benante after someone said, “I don’t know what you’re bitching about,” with Anthrax’s anchor hitting back, “I wasn’t ‘bitching’ I was reacting to what I saw… Bitch.”

Further down, Benante praised Stoneman Douglas student Emma Gonzalez, who has become a widely covered activist for gun control. In response to Gonzalez’s recent speech at an anti-gun rally, Benante wrote, “It was well spoken and what needed to be said.”
