Metallica‘s Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujilio appeared with Lou Reed on the French show, ‘Taratata,’ which aired on Nov. 25. The episode was taped on Nov. 9, and in addition to the trio sitting down to field questions about and discuss their collaborative ‘Lulu’ album, the band and Reed performed two songs from the record.
VH1 Classic has affirmed its commitment to metal with ‘That Metal Show’ going strong for nine seasons and the newly launched ‘Metal Evolution’ documentary which is now airing each Saturday night, taking an anthropological look at the genesis and development of the genre. We’re used to hearing Ozzy Osbourne‘s many hits on the radio, both terrestrial and satellite. Now, Osbourne is getting his own Sirius XM channel. It’ll be dubbed “Ozzy’s Boneyard” and you will be able to find it at Channel 38 on your Sirius XM unit. Ozzy’s Boneyard will include classic hard rock and metal tunes, ranging from his own band Black Sabbath to Pantera to Van Halen and more.
Red Hot Chili Peppers are transformed into graphic novel characters in the visually arresting video for ‘Monarchy of Roses,’ the second single off the band’s latest album ‘I’m With You.’ The vid, directed by Marc Klasfeld, is all black and white, with the only splash of color coming from the roses mentioned in the title, all of which fly around on the screen.

After a few weeks of hype, Season 9 of VH1 Classic’s ‘That Metal Show’ kicked off last night (which isn’t its regular night, mind you) with the mother of all interviews and on National Metal Day. The camera-shy, elusive W. Axl Rose agreed to a sit down with Eddie Trunk and co. in the early morning hours in Miami. He was rather candid and shared his thoughts on his lateness and lawsuits. He also revealed his original idea for the ‘Appetite for Destruction’ cover.
The ninth season of VH1 Classic’s ‘That Metal Show’ will launch on National Metal Day (11-11-11) and it kicks off with the biggest of all “gets” in terms of interviews, as Guns N’ Roses singer W. Axl Rose sat down with the hosts for an early morning chat a few weeks back.
It’s Axl Rose‘s world and we all just live in it and play by his rules, even in 2011. Apparently, the temperamental and interview-shy Rose, who is famous for his tardiness and doing things on his clock and whenever the hell he feels like it, granted an hour-long interview to Eddie Trunk of VH1 Classic’s ‘That Metal Show’ in the wee hours of this morning (Oct. 30). The interview took place at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fla., around 7 in the morning!
