After the release date of Oct. 30 for Cradle of Filth’s upcoming tenth studio album ‘The Manticore and Other Horrors’ was announced last week, the band has now unveiled the cover art. Matthew Vickerstaff of Darkwaveart created the artwork for the record that was recorded at Springvale and Grindstone studios in Suffolk, England.

After releasing the audio version of their debut single ‘Cold’ a few months back, AxeWound has now unveiled the video for the song. AxeWound is a new supergroup that includes Bullet for My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck on guitar, Cancer Bats’ Liam Cormier on vocals, Mike Kingswood of Glamour of the Kill on guitars, Joe Copcutt of Rise to Remain on bass and Jason Bowld, formerly of Pitchshifter, on drums.
It has been five long years since the last Pig Destroyer full-length, and finally the grindcore gurus have completed their fifth album. ‘Book Burner’ will be released Oct. 23 by Relapse Records. The 19 skull-crushing tracks were recorded at guitarist Scott Hull’s Visceral Sound Studios. The band has also released a video via Decibel.com (watch below) of the recording process.
Hatebreed are expressing their outrage via Twitter after a CNN opinion piece written by Lonnie Nasatir included them in a list of white power bands. Following an outpouring of protests from the band and their fans, Hatebreed’s name has since been removed from the article.

August Burns Red plans to get you in the holiday spirit with their upcoming Christmas album August Burns Red Presents: ‘Sleddin’ Hill, A Holiday Album.’ With an Oct. 9 street date via Solid State Records, the album will include holiday classics along with original songs. August Burns Red has released a holiday cover song each of the past four years, which will all be included on ‘Sleddin’ Hill.’
A week before its Aug. 14 release date, a full stream of the new In This Moment album ‘Blood’ is now available. The stream is free until Aug. 14 for those with an XBox Live subscription. The single ‘Blood,’ for which Loudwire premiered the video, has been out for a few weeks, and now fans can hear the rest of the band’s fourth album.
Monster Magnet has added some U.S. dates to their previously announced European tour. The band will kick off the ‘Spine of God’ tour in November to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their full-length debut. They will be playing ‘Spine of God’ in its entirety during the tour, and U.S. fans will be able to catch shows in Brooklyn, Sayreville, N.J. and Philadelphia in December.

Metallica’s eight-concert run in Mexico City has begun at the Palacia de los Deportes. A video of the ‘best effects’ during the opening show on Saturday, July 28 is now available (watch below). The nine minute clip includes shots of various pyro and lighting effects, including what appeared to be stagehands catching on fire.
