Black and White America – Lenny Kravitz Looks At His Family [VIDEO]

The song Black and White America has special meaning to Lenny.  The entire album as well because of it's story.  Lenny's father is white and mother is black.  He remembers the times when people looked upon them with disgust and some even spit on them.  On vacation when his father checked into a hotel, he was told that  he could not bring a prostitute in with him.

He states that his parents rose above all of that and it did not even occur to him that there was a difference until it was mentioned to him in grade school.  But he did not care.  That is what this album is all about.  The story of his life.
