Dog Tricks Man into Thinking His Home Was Being Robbed
Dogs are supposed to be man's best friend, but sometimes they can be a real pain in the neck. As proof, check out this story of a Utah man who was tricked by his pooch into thinking his home was being robbed.
Last Wednesday, Bruce Gardner received a strange phone call from home and heard muffled banging and scratching noises on the other end. Naturally, he assumed he was being burgled and alerted police. But when cops converged on the home, they found no evidence that it had been broken into. In fact, all the doors and windows were still locked, and nothing, except the cordless home phone, was missing.
Later, Gardner took it upon himself to do some investigating and discovered that the phone had been buried in the backyard, most likely by his four-year-old Labrador Retriever named Maya.
"In the midst of chewing on it, she happened to hit redial, called the man's cell phone," explained Sgt. Craig Martinez of the Orem Police Department. "And then the dog had buried the phone in the backyard in the garden."
Gardner said he's learned his lesson and will no longer leave things out that he doesn't want "eaten up." And as for Maya, we're guessing her phone privileges have been revoked for some time to come.
