Following his Golden Globe- and Oscar-nominated role in 'Lincoln,' Tommy Lee Jones is bringing back the "American swagger" in the first 'Emperor' trailer.

Jones portrays Douglas MacArthur, an American general who finds himself as the new ruler of Japan during the America's occupation of the territory shortly after Emperor Hirohito’s World War II surrender. And may we say the cigar and aviators look suits the Academy Award winner after all these years. 'LOST' star Matthew Fox joins the cast (which also stars newcomer Eriko Hatsune playing the Emperor) as MacArthur's Japanese culture expert.

Check out the official synopsis:

As General Douglas MacArthur (Tommy Lee Jones) suddenly finds himself the de facto ruler of a foreign nation, he assigns an expert in Japanese culture, General Bonner Fellers (Matthew Fox), to covertly investigate the looming question hanging over the country: should the Japanese Emperor(Eriko Hatsune), worshipped by his people but accused of war crimes, be punished or saved?

Though we've already seen a clip from 'Emperor,' the trailer, premiering on Yahoo Movies, provides an extensive look into this upcoming period film, set to hit theaters on March 8. Check it out below and let us know what you think of the movie in the comments. Do you think we have another award nomination on our hands?
