While most tech-giants are offering up gimmicky cell phones and apps, Kyocera took a huge leap and just announced the worlds first solar smart phone!

For the younger generations, let me explain. Kyocera was a massive player in the world of cell phones back in the day. When all the hype was about Motorola's RAZR and Nokia's 1112, Kyocera came out with tiny, affordable, and popular flip phones. That iconic image we all have of the little silver, rounded corner flip phone... Kyocera.

Now, they really haven't been a major player in the US for a long time, even though their waterproof smart phones are uber-popular overseas. Now that they're putting solar-cells into these little devices, we'll all be able to go a full day without worrying about battery life.

Now, maybe you've been using a solar charger this whole time... blah, blah, blah, as you say eating a handful of stale granola... but the real technological leap here is the display. Kyocera has invented a display screen that can charge your phone. It's remarkable.

Imagine every clean and clear window in your house being able to power your home, and put enough electricity on the grid to actually get paid by the electric company... Or putting this tech on the windshield of a car. Boom! Instant MPG's... The sky really is the limit thus far, and technology keeps pushing forward. Onward and upward.

I can only hope that when the CEO announced this technology, he promptly dropped the mic and walked off stage.

Hazaa.
