Wrestling legend Jerry Lawler, the self-proclaimed King of Memphis, took matters into his own hands at his hometown Grizzlies' playoff game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night. One unlucky gentlemen in a Clippers' shirt was body slammed on the hardwood court as Lawler-Mania was running wild. The slam was pretty nasty, and whoever took it had some cojones. You can see the slam in the grainy cellphone video below. The King was in full Grizzlies' garb, which put it over the top.

This isn't unusual for The King, who performed his patented piledriver at a Grizzlies' game last year. Jerry Lawler is the only man I've ever heard compared to Elvis when it comes to popularity in Memphis, so this was a brilliant way to get the fans going. The Grizzlies ended up defeating the Los Angeles Clippers, 94-82, and finally added a win to their two losses in the best-of-seven series.

Jerry Lawler was always more of a wrestler or commentator, than a manager, but I could see him being the Bobby "The Brain" Heenan of the NBA. Perhaps next game, Lawler can hit Blake Griffin with a chair shot when he's on the bench. The Grizzlies are going to need all the help they can get if they're going to make it to the next round of the NBA playoffs.
