Well that was fast! Only one episode deep into Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' with last weeks premiere, and already it seems Samuel L. Jackson's Director Nick Fury has been called in to appear in tomorrow's sophomore episode "0-8-4." The latest promo for Marvel's Joss Whedon-produced series conspicuously teases an appearance from 'The Avengers' one-eyed ringleader, but is there any truth to the rumor?

Entertainment Weekly has pointed our attention to a minor detail of a brief 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' promo that emerged yesterday, which urge viewers to stay until the very end of Tuesday's upcoming episode "0-8-4." We might have otherwise overlooked the suggestion as harmless promotion, until we became aware that the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo at the very end is seen to be wearing Nick Fury's iconic eye patch! Not to mention, Clark Gregg and other Marvel honchos have strongly hinted over Twitter to stay through the credits.

Previously, Samuel L. Jackson had remained coy about any potential appearances in the ABC series, though he suggested on multiple occasions that he might expect to contribute cameos in the vein of 'Charlie's Angels,' directing Coulson and his new team from afar. We'd be pleasantly surprised if ABC managed to keep a Nick Fury cameo under wraps until the very last moment, though we were already hooked into devouring tomorrow's episode regardless.

From ABC’s official description of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ episode 2, “0-8-4″:

Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. agents travel to Peru to investigate an object of unknown origin, codenamed 0-8-4. But when he runs into Comandante Camilla Reyes, more than just sparks fly at 30,000 feet, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

For those unaware, the ‘Avengers‘-adjacent series features Clark Gregg’s resurrected Phil Coulson, Ming-Na’s Melinda May, Brett Dalton’s Grant Ward, Iain de Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge as Leo Fitz and Gemma Simmons, and Chloe Bennet as hacker Skye. Upcoming episodes will also include ‘Luck‘ star Ian Hart as Marvel character Dr. Franklin Hall, and ‘Ghost Whisperer’ star David Conrad as scientist Ian Quinn, while Cobie Smulders will supposedly return as Maria Hill in upcoming episodes.

You can check out the Fury-ous new promo for Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' above, and tell us in the comments if you think Samuel L. Jackson should appear in tomorrow's episode!
