J.J. Abrams has been keeping a tight lid on the production and story of the newly anticipated Star Wars VII. Yesterday Mr. Abrams finally opened the curtain for a small peak and revealed the first character for the new entry of the Star Wars Saga.

The beloved astromech droid R2-D2 has been confirmed on Abrams' production company Twitter page Bad Robot. It most likely means that C3-PO will also be in the film as well. Whether the golden plated translator droid will make an apperance is still in the air, but with R2 it's a safe bet to guess that 3-PO will be in as well.

As of right now Star Wars alums Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher have all been confirmed to be in the new film as well. Many fans are speculating that they are all reprising their roles from the original trilogy. Although this may be a safe assumption, those details have yet to be confirmed by Abrams himself.

Fans have also speculated that The Solo Twins from the Star Wars novels, Jacen and Jaina will also be featured, but again this has also not been confirmed by any members of the Star Wars team.

As a longtime Star Wars fan I am looking forward to the possibilities of where the sequel trilogy will go. I believe Disney will do alright with the series, I mean just look at their work with the Marvel movies, what could possibly go wrong?
