Being the movie and pop culture addict that I am, there hasn't been much brilliance out there in the last decade or so. Not to say there hasn't been shining moments in film, but you get the gist. Heath Ledger in 'The Dark Knight', Gene Hackman in 'The Royal Tenenbaums', Daniel Day Lewis in 'There Will Be Blood', and pretty much everything Philip Seymour Hoffman has been in.
