DreamWorks Animation has released a new trailer for their upcoming movie 'Turbo,' about a snail with the very lofty goal of being able to compete in races. But he's a snail, so that's obviously not an obtainable goal -- or is it?

Ryan Reynolds lends his voice to the lead role of Turbo, a snail who wishes on a star to gain the power of lightning-speed, and gets his wish when he's sucked under the hood of a car and lands smack dab in the middle of some nitrous oxide, which revs up his system, but is the change permanent? The latest trailer fleshes out the characters a bit and introduces us to several of the supporting players, including Turbo's friend at a taco restaurant, who lovingly tucks the snail into "bed" with a tortilla blanket.

In addition to Reynolds, the film stars the voices of Maya Rudolph, Ken Jeong (as a mean old lady), Samuel L. Jackson, Snoop Dogg, and Ben Schwartz (aka Jean Ralphio from 'Parks and Recreation'). 'Turbo' slides into theaters on July 17. The official synopsis:

From the makers of Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda, Turbo is a high-velocity 3D comedy about an underdog snail who kicks into overdrive when he miraculously attains the power of super-speed. But after making fast friends with a crew of streetwise, tricked-out es-car-goes, Turbo learns that no one succeeds on their own. So he puts his heart and shell on the line to help his pals achieve their dreams, before Turbo-charging his own impossible dream: winning the Indy 500.
