You could be drawn for the hunt of a lifetime! Elk season will soon be here starting October 7th through the 10th then again on December 9th through the 12th. Applications are now being accepted for the City of Lawton's 2021 elk hunt.

When you're turning six, you want a birthday party you'll remember. This young lady in Oklahoma got that and more.

Many of those involved in the chase and capture were impressed by the camel's speed and quickness.

Now this is a really cool idea and one I would have never thought of. There's a dog park that's also a restaurant and pub in Oklahoma City called Solo's Park & Pub. It's located at 13310 Pawnee Drive in OKC so it's just a short trip down I-44 and about an hour or so away from Lawton, Fort Sill. It's the perfect place to take the entire family, including the dog!

At one time Oklahoma had a thriving turkey population, but it has since dwindled and has wildlife experts worried. Recently the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission met and voted to delay the next Spring turkey season (2022) to April 16th and reduce the bag limit to one tom per hunter. The same goes for the Fall season as well.

Dogs and cats and rabbits oh my!

Now this one surprised me. Never in a million years would I have guessed the most popular dog in Oklahoma correctly. I thought for sure it would be the Lab, or any larger field and hunting dog, but I was way off. I'm a dog owner myself, I have 2 labs. One is a full bred Chocolate Lab and the other is a Lab mix. Both are great dogs and a ton of fun to be around. Super friendly and incredibly social, just ask anyone who's come over or rang the doorbell. So what's the most popular breed in Oklahoma?

The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens welcomed a brand new member to the family yesterday (06-03-21) at 12:01pm CST. A male baby giraffe was born at the OKC Zoo and is doing well, spending time and bonding with his Mom Ellie and his fellow giraffe family. He doesn't have a name quite yet, but we know when he was born he weighed around 156 lbs and is 6'1 in height, That's a BIG BABY!

Oklahoma's "Free Fishing Days" are coming up this weekend starting Saturday, June 5th through Sunday, June 6th (06-05-21 to 06-06-21). You can fish local and area public lakes, ponds and other places throughout Oklahoma without the need for a state fishing license. It's the perfect time to introduce people, especially kids to fishing and the great outdoors. The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation does this every year and it's always a fun family weekend of fishing and spending time together. So if you didn't have any plans for this weekend, you do now! Grab the tackle, poles and head to the water...
