One of my fondest childhood memories other than finger painting with chocolate pudding in kindergarten is when I was in 4th grade and the Harlem Globetrotters came to town and we got to take a field trip to see them at Kemper Arena in Kansas City. I remember I was laughing and having a great time and then I ended up like the kid in the picture.
After the shocking and tragic death of GWAR lead guitarist Cory “Flattus Maximus” Smoot, the metal world did was it does best — unite. A memorial benefit show has been put together in GWAR’s hometown of Richmond, Va. All proceeds from the benefit will be given directly to the Smoot family.
I had the opportunity to be at the opening of the new exhibit at The Comanche National Museum and Cultural Center (CNMCC) today. Through the Eyes of the Eagle: Illustrating Healthy Living for Children. This is a fun, colorful exhibit that children of all ages will enjoy. It includes the original illlustrations from the 4 book series. The exhibit also includes a lovely garden and play ideas for the children.
