This time of year, I hate being bored. True, this is the prime time to walk around the mountains, but when it's cold, or when the wind is howling 40mph, you need an ideal indoor activity to pass the time.

Yes, you could plop down in front of the tube and veg out for a bit. You could turn on the Xbox and waste a few hours doing nothing. You could even pretend to be old and take a long afternoon nap... but how about doing something constructive.

This is the perfect excuse to do a little web-research and DIY a new project yourself.

This week, let's whip out some super stylish, yet ultra-simple pipe-desks for the home office/industrial kitchen. The internet being the worlds biggest filing cabinet of plans, here are the instructions straight from Reddit.

The materials are relatively inexpensive and readily available locally. Having a few home improvement stores to choose from in town, the big ones will most likely have the best and identical prices.

The pipe and joints are cheap, but your choice of wood could really put a dent in the pocket book.

While I'm the worlds greatest advocate of butcher block table tops, you might stick to cabinet plywood to keep that bill down. Better yet, buy some cheap OSB and glue some inexpensive laminate flooring to it for a one-of-a-kind surface.

Go forth and build.
