This past Sunday night (05-25-14) my fellow coon-ass, swamp dwelling, Cajun, bayou loving blood brothers of Down took to the Hardrock Stage at Rocklahoma 2014 for an unforgettable performance. For me the entire weekend was building up to this, to see Down back in action! The entire line up this year was incredible, somehow AEG Live seem to outdo themselves year after year and 2014 was no exception.

Down wrapped up the current tour in support of the new E.P. "Down IV - Part II" Sunday night. As a matter of fact Rocklahoma was their last stop before heading home to NOLA (New Orleans Louisiana). They'll be taking a break, possibly heading heading back to the studio to work on the new disk or after a short break hit the road again. I guess this means we'll be getting "Down IV - Part III" sooner rather than later, at least hoping so anyway.

It was a great set filled with favorites and even the new single "We Knew Him Well". Phil was in good form and voice, his mood was light and even humorous. No one works a crowd quite like Mr. Anselmo! I will say it was strange not seeing Kirk Windstein with them, but Bobby Landgraf Down's newest member and axe-slinger held his own and the overall sound of the band didn't suffer.  I have to admit I was a little nervous about that but rest assured, Down sound as good as ever!
