During Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's TGS 2014 gameplay, Snake encountered an injured wolf pup that lost its mother and decided to take it back to Mother Base. Sniper Wolf would be proud.

Thanks to YouTube user MKIceAndFire, we get to see this adorable gameplay footage of Metal Gear Solid V from the 2014 Tokyo Game Show. While Snake is visiting the same African jungles we saw in the previous gameplay footage, he encounters an injured wolf pup crying next to its deceased mother. At first, Big Boss tries leaving, only to find out that the injured wolf is limping along, trying to follow him. Snake throws out an inflatable Active Decoy as a distraction, only to show the ghastly image of what appears to be the ghost from P.T. on it, intending to scare the wolf away. Instead, the wolf stays with Snake. While it is not shown in the video, we presume that Snake Fultoned the wolf back to Mother Base.

Upon his return from the mission, Snake is met by Revolver Ocelot and the wolf pup, who is happy to see Big Boss return. After some time passes, we see that the wolf is huge and all grown up. The injury on the pup's face resulted in it wearing an eye patch, matching the Boss' look. The crew at Mother Base call the wolf "DD," which is short for Diamond Dog. Ocelot then orders DD to go with Snake for his next mission. Who knows what kind of crazy gameplay mechanics you can have out in the field with DD following you.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will launch sometime in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Tell Snake he can't bring that wolf into Metal Gear Zeke or it might stain the Corinthian leather.
