RADiUS-TWC (via Empire) has released a new international trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn's upcoming film, 'Only God Forgives.' The latest trailer is a little more kinetic and gives off a darkly comic vibe, showcasing Kristin Scott Thomas' character, Crystal, a mother who demands the head of the man who killed her son ... on a platter.

The score for this new international trailer is definitely more amped as well, and while we don't see much in the way of new scenes, we're digging the editing, which doesn't necessarily sell the film as something it isn't, but shifts the focus largely to Thomas and the mother/son relationship that does serve as one of the film's central themes. The tone is a bit darker than what this trailer indicates, though.

The film stars Ryan Gosling as Julian, a former kickboxer turned drug dealer and gangster who lives in Thailand with his brother Billy. When Billy is killed, their mother arrives and urges Julian to avenge his brother's murder, putting his own life in danger in the process. 'Only God Forgives' also stars Vithaya Pansringarm and touts a score by Cliff Martinez, the former Red Hot Chili Peppers band member who also scored Refn's 'Drive.'

'Only God Forgives' (and Ryan Gosling's fists) hits theaters on July 19.
