Sonar Festival 2013 Announces Skrillex as Headliner
The 20th annual Sonar festival is set to take place in Barcelona, Spain, from June 14-16 and will feature Skrillex as headliner. The dubstep superstar – who recently unveiled a brand-new EP via YouTube – is scheduled to appear after Kraftwerk’s 3D show.
As confirmed by the event’s official website, “Skrillex will play the same night and on the same stage as Kraftwerk, in a leap of time of some 40 years taking us from the pioneers of electronic music to one of today’s biggest international artists.â€
The festival is known for its emphasis on electronic music, but it aims to embrace other genres and expose patrons to the city’s cultural diversity. Other acts on this year’s lineup include Pet Shop Boys, Two Door Cinema Club, Gold Panda, Nicolas Jaar and Liars.
Previous editions of Sonar showcased the likes of M.I.A., Cut Copy, De La Soul, LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective, Deadmau5, La Roux, Hot Chip, Beastie Boys, Devo and Bjork.
