Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted has revealed that Staind guitarist Mike Mushok has jumped aboard his new musical project, Newsted. The bassist himself posted a video on YouTube introducing Mushok to the world as a new member of Newsted, adding that the group's new formation is "gonna come out and kick your ass!"
Godsmack have always been vocal about how much of an influence Pantera had on their career and so it seemed only fitting that when the 2012 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival rolled into Pantera’s home state of Texas that the band would pay homage to them at some point during the night.

Staind released their latest album, a self-titled masterpiece, back in September of this year. The making of the album was an arduous and well documented process, but now that it’s out the band can sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor.
May 30, 2011 Staind headlined the main stage at "Rocklahoma" 2011 Saturday night (05-28-11) We not only got an hour plus of Staind, Aaron Lewis also performed "Country Boy" from his solo "Town Line" E.P. in stores now.
