It's looking like Oklahoma Walmarts could start stocking and selling spirits and liquor. While it hasn't happened yet, the mega-chain is rumored to be working on legalizing the sale of liquor and spirits for not only themselves but all grocery stores in the Sooner State!
It's time once again to 'Share Your Christmas.' Going on today (12-01-21) until 7:00 pm at both Walmarts, Sheridan Road, and Quannah Parker Trailway you can do your part and help those less fortunate this holiday season.
I've seen more and more posts online from people who are trying to get the basics like bottled water and are having a hard time finding it. Today I went out to several places and most were fully stocked and had more on the way.
There's been a lot of rumors and false information on social media and elsewhere about Walmart and Sam's Club requiring face masks. This was the big topic over the weekend that had people upset and posting all kinds of things about a mask mandate.
Remain calm, all is well, there's no need to panic...Walmarts across the country ARE NOT going bag-less next month on July 1st. There's been a lot of talk and rumor online and elsewhere about Walmart going bag-less, maybe you've seen or heard about it. Well it's NOT TRUE, at least for the entire country and certainly not in Oklahoma. THE ONLY Walmarts at this time that will be going bag-less are in Maine. That's it, the only place they're going bag-less. So why are they doing this? Is it some test market to see how it works our so they can roll it out across the rest of the stores Nationwide?
Over the weekend I had to go to Walmart on the West side at 6301 N.W. Quannah Parker Trail Way for a quick snack and grocery run. I had a few more items than normal so instead of self checkout I went to a regular line with a cashier. As she was ringing up all my items she said "Pretty soon you won't be able to do this." I asked what she was talking about and she told me that by the end of April or beginning of May Walmart on the West side will be 100% self checkout, no more cashiers. I asked if she was going to be able to keep her job and she said yes, that she would be assisting customers at self checkout.
Starting tomorrow Friday, February 12th (02-12-21) Walmart and Sam's Club pharmacies in Lawton, Fort Sill will be offering the COVID-19 vaccinations. All state guidelines and COVID-19 vaccination eligibility phases will be followed.
If you haven't seen or heard the news yet, the big debate online is all about Walmart and the possibility that they'll be going full self check out or "Scan & Go" by the end of 2021. That's right, there could be a time and real soon that you go to Walmart and there's no cashiers or manned check out lanes anymore. The rumor is maybe as soon as April of this year, however no official word has come down from Walmart quite yet.
Tomorrow (12-10-20) join Townsquare Media and KSWO at Walmart. We'll be set up at both locations: 1002 N.W. Sheridan Road and at 6301 Quannah Parker Trailway for "Share Your Christmas." Stop by help us spread a little bit of holiday cheer and make a donation of can food, or any non-perishable food item.
