‘Veep’ Season 4 & ‘Silicon Valley’ Season 2: HBO Renews Sunday Comedies for 2015
Well, this shouldn't come as too big of a shock. Given the Emmy caliber of HBO's 'Veep' in its first few seasons and its current third, as well as the buzzy reception of Mike Judge's tech comedy 'Silicon Valley,' HBO has made things official with 2015 renewals for its current Sunday comedy lineup. Might that mean Selina Meyer (Julia Louis Dreyfus) gets a new title to match her current career path, too?
No word yet on exactly how many episodes HBO intends for either renewal, though 'Veep' has consistently remained at 10 episodes per season (the current year concluding on June 15), while 'Silicon Valley' will come in at 8 episodes for its inaugural launch, wrapping up the first season on June 1.
For those unfamiliar, ‘Silicon Valley’ stars T.J. Miller, Thomas Middleditch, Judd Apatow vet Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Christopher Evan Welch, Amanda Crew, ‘The Office‘ star Zach Woods and ‘The Daily Show‘ vet Kumail Nanjiani, and follows “the high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success.” Judge himself directed the pilot, co-executive producing with fellow ‘King of the Hill’ EPs John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky along with Alec Berg, Michael Rotenberg and Tom Lassally.
No major surprises, but what say you? Are you happy to have 'Veep' season 4 and 'Silicon Valley' season 2 due in 2015? Will Selina Meyer clinch the presidency this year and invalidate the title of her own show?
