Furious 7 had one of the biggest box office openings of all time last weekend, earning a jaw-dropping $392 million worldwide. Somehow, Universal’s silly car-racing franchise has officially grown up and has the monetary clout to stand alongside the biggest movies of all time. So yeah, of course everyone wants a Fast and Furious 8, but fans hoping for a quick turnaround need to get comfortable. The next film is stuck at a red light and it’s going to be a little while before it turns green.

Furious 7 almost certainly won’t be the last Fast & Furious movie. But at times it feels like a series finale. There are numerous callbacks and homages to the franchise’s entire 15-year history. The setpieces are bigger and crazier than ever; it’s hard to imagine anyone topping them. And before the chases really get rolling, the mood is often downright mournful. Two different scenes are set in graveyards, and characters talk about taking “one last ride” together.

Vin Diesel, he of the bulging biceps, shiny scalp and low vocal register, has been making the press rounds for Furious 7 over the past few weeks. Considering just how crazy his new movie is, he sure has a lot to talk about. But even the unlimited number of potential conversation topics to mined from the insanity of the seventh film in the Fast and Furious saga couldn’t stop him from teasing the eighth film in the franchise, which may be set in New York City.

Watch Vin Diesel’s Emotional Introduction to a ‘Fast and Furious 7’ Screening
Earlier this week, we were among those in the audience for the first ever Fast and Furious 7 screening at SXSW. It was an emotional affair, to say the least. It's not often you watch a movie where The Rock walks down a street shooting a helicopter out of the sky with a massive gatling gun that ends with everyone in the audience crying, but there we were. An entire audience still processing the grief and sadness of the death of Paul Walker. A few days after that screening, Vin Diesel hosted a similar screening in Los Angeles and introduced the film to the crowd. It was about as sad as you can imagine.

There are a lot of car commercials during the Super Bowl, but this is THE car commercial.

Few would argue that the turning point in the 'Fast and Furious' films is when Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson joined the cast in 'Fast Five' as federal agent Luke Hobbs. He brought a breath of fresh air to the 14-year-old franchise, but if things had gone originally as planned, he wouldn't even have been in the movie. 'Fast' producers originally wanted Tommy Lee Jones to star in the film until star Vin Diesel came to them with The Rock. And where did he get that idea? One of his Facebook fans suggested it to him. That's just one of the surprising 'Fast and Furious' facts in the latest installment of You Think You Know Movies!

Here we go! After being teased in seven-second increments earlier this week, we have the first full, official trailer for the newly-titled 'Furious 7,' which wastes absolutely no time getting right into the bonkers action, with a car being parachute-dropped onto the road during one of the crew's missions, and Paul Walker's Brian being rescued from a harrowing episode on the edge of a cliff by Michelle Rodriguez. And that's only a fraction of what we see in this trailer.
