I don’t know about you, but the first thing that came to mind for me when the COVID-19 pandemic started was the movie Outbreak.

I realize Contagion is the movie that has received the most attention during the pandemic as there are many similarities to our current situation, but I wasn’t familiar with the flick until shortly after the beginning of the spread of the coronavirus.

But I’m very familiar with Outbreak. I saw it in theaters when it came out back in 1995 and it scared the hell out of me. I can watch slasher movies, zombie flicks, pure gore or whatever kind of horror film you throw at me and I won’t bat an eye. But if it we’re talking scary stuff that’s based on real life occurrences, that’s a whole different story.

Anyway, a particular scene from Outbreak is getting a lot of attention in the last few days since the CDC announced the coronavirus is now airborne.

The scene in question features Dustin Hoffman’s character, Colonel Daniels informing General Billy Ford, played by Morgan Freeman, that the virus they were trying to contain had mutated and become airborne.

Kinda feels like we’re living the sequel these days, huh?
