Thom Yorke’s Atoms for Peace Release ‘Other Side – Stuck Together’ Remix

More pieces are falling into place for Atoms for Peace, the alt-rock supergroup featuring Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead‘s Thom Yorke and longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. The group has posted a remix of their track ‘Other Side – Stuck Together,’ which is also the B-side of their first single, which is itself a remix of ‘Tamer Animals’ by Oklahoma band Other Lives. The ‘Other Side – Stuck Together’ remix showcases a highly experimental side of Atoms, with electronic beats, phased synths and distorted vocals twisting and throbbing in and out of focus, forming a composition that is best described as a sound collage, not a song. Atoms for Peace formed in 2009 to perform Yorke’s ‘The Eraser’ album with assistance from drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco, embarking on a brief U.S. tour in 2010. Since then, their lone public appearance took the form of a DJ set featuring Yorke and Godrich earlier this year at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.

Atoms for Peace are next scheduled to perform on Sept. 8 as part of New York City art museum MoMA PS1′s 2012 Warm Up music series. Once again, only a DJ set is scheduled, although which member or members of the group will appear has not been announced. If nothing else, expect Yorke to be on hand to spin some Atoms jams — and whatever other music is floating around inside that fabulous noggin of his.
