Beck hasn't released a new studio album since 2008's 'Modern Guilt,' but he may make up for lost time -- and his lack of conventional releases -- by dropping two brand new albums in 2013.

While Beck recently released a 20-track, sheet-music-only album called 'Song Reader,' it was anything but the traditional or typical type of album his legion of fans might have been looking for. But Beck diehards seeking actual listenable material needn't fret. He is in the middle of a creative boon, and new tunes -- some of which he has been working on for several years -- are on the way. He's not sure how he'll release the music, but he has some ideas.

In a candid chat with the NME, the 'Loser' singer said, "There is music and it's coming. I have this one record I started in 2008. It got put to the side for a long time but recently I've been mixing some of the songs. I'm not sure if they'll be singles or EPs or an album but it'll come out in some way and it sounds... sonically adventurous. I also have a record that I recorded last year in Nashville, which I may or may not finish."

Beck wrote three new tunes -- 'Cities,' 'Touch the People' and 'Spiral Staircase' -- for 'Sound Shapes,' a PlayStation3 game. He also issued the song 'I Just Started Hating People Today' via Jack White's Third Man Records. The track, which White produced, included 'Blue Randy' as a B-side.
