"Body Count is gonna do a new album," Ice-T told us before performing at the Rock on the Range festival yesterday (May 18). And the album title? "Carnivore," he reveals.

"It's basically: 'Fuck vegans.' We figure, anything carnivorous pretty much kicks ass. We're carnivorous! I'm not [really] saying 'Fuck vegans,'" Ice-T jokes. "Everyone's so pussy right now, [so] we're carnivores."

So they have an album title, but not much else, which Ice says is par for the course. "We haven't written a lyric! We start out albums with a name, that's how we started Bloodlust. We're probably going to start recording tracks in September."

Having collaborated with Max Cavalera, Randy Blythe and Dave Mustaine on Bloodlust, Ice offered an open invitation to any established rock or metal musician who wants to bring something to the table. "For any fans of Body Count, if you think you have something that we can fuck with, I can take an idea and turn it into something. On 'All Love is Lost,' Max [Cavalera] gave us the first idea and a song came out of that. We're not afraid of having fun with other bands."

Ice added, "Chris Barnes told me he would kill me if he doesn't get on this next album. because I worked with Six Feet Under. People like Chris Barnes, I don't want to get him mad, because I know he might dissect me or some shit, so we're gonna get some death metal on there from original Cannibal Corpse."

Ice also says he hasn't left hip-hop behind, and that he's curating a compilation of his older songs. "I have a new rap project. It's called The Legend of Ice-T: Crime Stories. It's basically a compilation of all my story rhymes, from all my albums, put together. All my adventures. Chuck D says I'm the greatest storyteller."

He explains, "A legend is part true, part fiction. So a lot of these stories, people want to believe things that may not be true, but that builds the legend. Like, 'I heard Ice fucked five bitches with the same rubber.' That's part legend."

As for a new hip-hop album? "I thought about it, but I realized I couldn't do it because there's just not enough time in the day."
