Remember the name! Bones UK are building toward the July 12 release of their self-titled debut album and today they’re teaming up with Loudwire to bring you the exclusive premiere of their “Black Blood” video.

Though they tend to lean more riff-heavy with industrial flavor, It’s a more intimate side we’re getting from vocalist Rosie Bones and guitarist Carmen Vandenberg, who provide an acoustic version of the song with a bit of a twist in the video.

“With the ‘Black Blood’ video we wanted to do a take on Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged but with a twist,” they state. “We wanted to do this very raw stripped back version on the song but within a very odd, fantasy environment. The audience is made up of heightened Bones UK fans. Freaks of society, the scarred, the deformed, the half human half animal, the icons … and all these amazing creatures are welcomed and gathered to see this intimate show we are putting on. The feeling of ‘everyone is welcome’ in the Bones UK house. The relaxed hand held nature of the camera work and the long shots creates a tension between something being the REAL and the totally SURREAL.”

“When we hit on the tattooed boy at the back, we wanted to play with gender rolls again,” they explain. “Having someone who looks very tough having an incredibly vulnerable moment. We wanted to really hold on him and experience what he was feeling at the same time as him. Enter his brain for a minute and then fall back into the room.”

Of the song itself, they explain, “‘Black Blood’ is a song about not being capable of being loved by people who want to love you especially in the form of a ‘normal relationship.’ It's about destroying the opportunities that maybe allow that to happen. It's about feeling like you're wasting someone’s time who had hopes that you might change. It's about telling yourself you're happy being on your own, cause sometimes that's an easier thing to do than changing. It's about feeling like there’s a hole in you and anytime someone pours something ‘good’ into your body… it just drips on the floor. And until you fix the hole… nothing will ever change.”
