Nearly 400 Eisenhower High School freshmen are asking the people of Lawton to help this weekend as they conduct a community-wide food drive to collect as many non-perishable food items as possible for the local food bank.

Students could win as much as $5,000 to aid local charities through "Lead2Feed", a leadership program sponsored by USA Today, the Life a Life Foundation and the Yum! Foundation. EHS' chances of winning increase as local support for the effort increases. Local charities targeted for the funds, if students are successful, are the Lawton Food Bank, Saint John's Baptist Church and the Saint Vincent DePaul Society.

Students are organized into 30 teams that will operate four different collection sites. These will be located in front of Sam's Club, The Health Food Center and two Country mart locations (67th & Cache and at 9th & Gore) on Saturday (4/6) from 9am to 7pm and Sunday (4/7) from 1pm to 6pm.

Not only are students collecting items at these locations, EHS will also accept donations at the school during school hours through April 15.
