Foo Fighters Want to Reunite Oasis, Twenty One Pilots + Post Malone Also Pay Homage
The Foo Fighters performed at the famed Reading Festival over the weekend. Outside of honoring the late Prodigy frontman Keith Flint and bringing out Rick Astley for a rousing rendition of “Never Gonna Give You Up,” the guys also told the crowd they want to get Oasis back together.
Before the Foos launched into their signature cover of Queen’s “Under Pressure,” Taylor Hawkins pointed to a photo of Liam and Noel Gallagher that he placed on his bass drum. He told the audience, “As the Gallagher brothers watch on… one of these days we’ll get Oasis back. One of these days.” Dave Grohl, who jumped behind the drums for the cover added, “We’re trying.”
Hawkins added, “We’re trying. Let’s sign a petition. Everyone here, okay?” Grohl asked the audience, “How many people wanna see Oasis play a fucking show? The crowd erupted as Hawkins stated, “It’ll happen… too much money… they would make a lot for sure.” The Foos do have a history with the Gallaghers inviting Liam to play their inaugural Cal Jam festival and guest with them onstage. Watch video of the exchange below.
Oasis split in August 2009 after Noel Gallagher left the band saying he could no longer work with his brother Liam. If Guns N’ Roses successfully reformed, there is always hope that an Oasis reunion could eventually be on the table.
